The picture you are looking at, is a view looking N/NW of the southern
most point of Puget Sound in Washington State (Budd Inlet). The horizon
in upper left and center is the Cooper Point Peninsula. You may, if
you are VERY lucky, catch a glimpse of the Olympic Mountains on the
horizon (upper right, above the Cooper Point Peninsula). The Olympic
mountains are almost 40 miles away and rise to some 6,000 feet above
sea level. Clouds and haze (rain too) are pretty common in the area
and thus the picture will often be a bit limited. Oh, the occasional
'brown' in the lower part of the picture are the tide flats which appear
twice a day at low tide, otherwise the foreground will be the waters
of Puget Sound.
